Program Notes:

On poetry by Pushcart Prize Winner, Eugene Gloria, this work assumes the premise that the freeing of the soul and the "crossing of the divide" can take shocking and sublime turns. The first movement (soprano) introduces the ethereal feminine spirit, joyously released. The second (baritone) is an irreverent funeral march sarcastically reviewing all the trappings that are not a part of the death of a simple man. The third brings man and spirit together at the point contemplation and release.
